A garden gets used all year round, not just when the weather’s good, so it has to be built to hold up rather than just look right on the day it’s finished. I handle landscaping projects from the first design through to planting, whether that’s a full garden transformation or a single patio or terrace. One person on the job throughout, not a different crew for each stage.
Our process
It starts with me visiting the garden and giving you a fixed price for the work. Once you’re happy with that, I put together a design so you can see the space before anything changes. From there the groundwork begins, clearing the site and getting the levels right, since everything else depends on that being correct.
Drainage and any foundations go in next, the part that decides whether the garden holds up once the weather turns. Then the hard landscaping takes shape, patios, paths, walls, whatever the design calls for, followed by planting and the finishing details that make it feel finished rather than just built. I walk the space with you before I call the job done.

What time of year is best for landscaping work?
Most work can happen year-round, though some jobs, like laying turf or certain planting, are better timed to the season. I’ll tell you what suits your project when we plan it.
How long does a garden project take?
It depends heavily on scope, a patio might take a week, a full garden redesign several weeks. I’ll give you a realistic timeline once I’ve seen the space and the design’s agreed.
Do you handle the design as well as the build?
Yes. I design the layout with you before anything starts, so you know exactly what you’re getting and the build follows a plan rather than being worked out as we go.
What’s included in the quote?
Labour, materials, and groundwork are all covered in the price. If something unexpected turns up once we start, poor drainage, old foundations, that sort of thing, I’ll talk you through it before doing anything extra.
Can you work with an existing garden, or does it need to be cleared completely?
Both are possible. Some projects keep existing features and build around them; others start from a cleared site. I’ll advise on what makes sense once I’ve seen what’s there.
Do you handle drainage issues?
Yes, proper drainage is part of the groundwork on every project, not an optional extra. A garden that looks right without it usually doesn’t stay that way.
